How Have Different Parties Reacted?

Regarding the reappointment of Le Corne as Prime Minister, the recently resigned Minister of Education and former Prime Minister Borne congratulated him. She stated, "Now more than ever, compromises need to be made."

Jordan Bardella, President of the far-right National Rally, posted on social media that this appointment reflects Macron being "more isolated and disconnected than ever" and is a "bad joke." The party stated it would soon impeach the Le Corne government.

Jean-Luc Mélenchon, leader of the far-left "France Unbowed," said that reappointing a resigned prime minister is like a merry-go-round spinning in place, adding, "Macron can do nothing but be himself."

Currently, the far-right National Rally and the far-left "France Unbowed" have explicitly stated their intention to impeach the new prime minister. The left-wing Ecology Party and the French Communist Party have also expressed their plans to vote no confidence.

The stance of the right-wing Republicans and the left-wing Socialist Party could be key to determining Le Corne's fate. Republican lawmakers held a video conference on the evening of the 10th, with the majority voting in support of the new government led by Le Corne. However, the Socialist Party clearly stated that if the Le Corne government does not commit to immediately suspending the pension reform or decides to use special constitutional provisions to bypass parliamentary voting and force through the 2026 budget draft, the party will vote no confidence.

French media believe the Socialist Party's attitude will play a "decisive role" in whether the Le Corne government can survive. Le Figaro pointed out that Le Corne's new term is "more dangerous than ever."
