According to Fuji News Network reports cited by Global Times, U.S. President Trump and Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi are scheduled to hold a phone call on November 25th, with the Japanese government currently coordinating the arrangements.
It is reported that the request for this call came from the Trump side.
On October 25th, Takaichi and Trump held their first telephone talks since her inauguration. On October 28th, Takaichi met with Trump, who was visiting Japan, at the State Guest House in Tokyo.
According to earlier reports from CCTV News, Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi held her first phone talks with U.S. President Trump on October 25th since taking office, during which both sides agreed to "further elevate the Japan-U.S. alliance to a higher level."
At that time, Takaichi revealed that during the approximately 10-minute call, she emphasized: "Strengthening the Japan-U.S. alliance is the most important matter in the areas of diplomacy and security for this administration."
Trump congratulated her on assuming the position of Prime Minister. He recalled his relationship with Shinzo Abe and told Takaichi: "I know you are a politician highly regarded by Mr. Abe." Takaichi responded: "I look forward to meeting with you face-to-face."
