Jiang Bin: From November 18 to 20, the Chinese and U.S. militaries held the second working group meeting and annual meeting of the 2025 China-U.S. Maritime Military Security Consultation Mechanism in Hawaii. The meetings aimed to implement the consensus reached by the two countries’ defense ministers on strengthening communication and exchanges between frontline officers and soldiers, avoiding misunderstandings and miscalculations, and managing risks and crises, thereby adding positive elements to building a military relationship characterized by equality, respect, peaceful coexistence, stability, and positive momentum. Regarding follow-up engagement arrangements between the two militaries, the working levels of both sides are maintaining communication.
