Taiwan Excellence Expo in Dallas Concludes, Generating Nearly $100 Million in Business Opportunities
The 2025 Taiwan Excellence Expo in Dallas, Texas successfully concluded on the 16th, attracting over 10,000 visitors during its three-day run and generating $96 million in business opportunities. This year marked the first organized procurement mission to the U.S., not only enhancing bilateral trade and investment but also providing a crucial platform for Taiwanese companies to establish themselves as trusted supply chain partners for American businesses.
Regarding U.S. investments, Oklahoma Lieutenant Governor Matt Pinnell announced during his visit to Thunder Tiger's booth that the state will open a representative office in Taiwan by year-end to strengthen bilateral economic ties. Thunder Tiger, a leading drone manufacturer, noted that the expo provided rare access to government officials, with Lt. Gov. Pinnell making a special visit to their booth. The company's fiber optic gyroscopes - critical drone components produced by subsidiary Mutual Wave - attracted significant interest from U.S. aerospace firms due to their superior performance and cost advantages, with potential collaborations in the works.
The Texas Economic Development Department highlighted that Texas ranks as the world's eighth largest economy, maintaining its position as America's top exporting state for 23 consecutive years with no corporate or personal income tax. The state accounts for about 36% of U.S. semiconductor manufacturing and is strengthening its industry and talent pool through 16 universities and the Texas CHIPS Act.
According to TAITRA statistics, the procurement mission yielded substantial results. In the Smart Manufacturing Pavilion, Taiwanese automation leader Tongyouda successfully connected with a prominent U.S. systems integrator to discuss collaborative opportunities for robotic arms in warehouse systems. Automation specialist Sindatech engaged with a SpaceX supplier, potentially integrating its equipment into smart warehouse solutions.
In the Smart Healthcare Pavilion, Chang Gung Memorial Hospital's self-developed infant ultrasound device attracted a major Texas baby products company, with plans to discuss cooperation details and potential partnerships with leading Texas medical centers to introduce the product to the U.S. market.
The Taiwan Select Food Pavilion partnered with California-based distributor iTaiwan Foods, which facilitated pre-show procurement of over 30 Taiwanese products for U.S. shelves. The distributor reported identifying potential franchise partners during the expo, projecting a 20-25% increase in sales.
