On Wednesday, Roman Babushkin, Minister-Counselor of the Russian Embassy in India, stated at a press conference, "I would like to emphasize that despite the current complex political situation, we can foresee that India's oil imports will remain unchanged."

He added that India and Russia would find ways to address Trump's latest tariff policy based on the principle of "national interests."

Additionally, Indian Ambassador to Russia Vinay Kumar also confirmed that despite facing pressure from the United States, New Delhi would continue to purchase Russian oil.

Kumar further stated, "India will only buy what is most beneficial for itself... The issue is not about whether there should be an embargo; this concerns the country's security, economic and energy interests, especially the energy needs of our people. Therefore, for economic reasons, we will continue to buy Russian oil. Our government has made it clear that India will take all measures to safeguard its national interests, and ensuring the energy security of 1.4 billion Indians is precisely a national interest."

On the same day, Russian First Deputy Prime Denis Manturov stated that Russia believes it can supply liquefied natural gas (LNG) to India. "We continue to ship fuel to India, including crude oil and petroleum products, thermal coal, and coking coal. We see potential for Russian LNG exports."

Manturov also mentioned that Russia is looking forward to expanding nuclear energy cooperation with India.

Meanwhile, Russian Trade Representative Evgeny Griva pointed out that buying oil from Russia is "highly beneficial" for India, and India would not want to switch suppliers. It is reported that Russia offers Indian buyers a discount of 5% to 7%, and Russia also has a "very special mechanism" to continue supplying oil to India.
