Tencent Announces Full Opening of AI Capabilities

On September 16, the Tencent Global Digital Ecosystem Summit 2025 was held in Shenzhen. Dowson Tong, Senior Executive Vice President of Tencent Group and CEO of Cloud and Smart Industries Group, stated that "intelligentization" enhances industrial efficiency, while "globalization" drives revenue growth, which have become the two core drivers of enterprise development. Tencent will build two efficiency engines—"intelligentization" and "globalization"—to support enterprises in achieving steady and sustainable growth.

In terms of intelligentization, Tencent Cloud released the strategic panorama of Tencent Cloud Intelligent Agents, fully opening up AI capabilities and advantageous scenarios for both C-end and B-end. Through three major upgrades—intelligent agent solutions, SaaS+AI, and large model technology—Tencent aims to unleash enterprises' innovation potential.

Tong emphasized, "Tencent will adhere to a 'human-centric' approach to build 'user-friendly AI,' enabling AI to serve people in various scenarios, meet human needs, enhance work efficiency, optimize interaction experiences, and even provide emotional value."

According to reports, AI has become Tencent's "new business gene." Launched over a year ago, Tencent Yuanbao has become one of the top three AI-native applications in China by daily active users (DAU). The number of daily user queries to Tencent Yuanbao now equals the total monthly queries at the beginning of the year. The number of documents in Tencent's AI smart workbench IMA knowledge base has exceeded 100 million, while the monthly active AI users of QQ Browser have increased 17.8 times since April.

In terms of globalization, Tencent Cloud will support enterprises in deepening local presence and expanding into global markets through three dimensions: infrastructure, technological products, and service capabilities.

Tong added that this year, Tencent Cloud continues to strengthen infrastructure construction, with its overseas expansion pace leading among major Chinese cloud providers. Simultaneously, it has completed numerous product and feature upgrades to fully adapt to the global technology ecosystem.
