On October 15, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs held a video coordination conference on strengthening pig quarantine and slaughtering work. The conference reviewed and analyzed the progress of previous work and deployed measures to further advance the law enforcement and supervision of pig slaughtering and quarantine.
The meeting emphasized that pig quarantine and slaughtering supervision are critical controls for promoting the stable development of the industry and ensuring the quality and safety of pork products. Since last year, various regions have organized special campaigns, improved working mechanisms, and enhanced smart supervision, significantly elevating the standard of pig quarantine and slaughtering oversight and steadily improving the order of industry development.
The meeting called for swift and proactive actions from all regions to further optimize pig quarantine and slaughtering work. It urged accelerating the establishment of a smart supervision mechanism for animal quarantine, optimizing public-friendly service measures, strengthening team building and work coordination, fully implementing the quality management standards for pig slaughtering, and innovating supervision mechanisms for small-scale pig slaughtering sites. It also emphasized the need for early planning and deployment of tasks related to the upcoming New Year and Spring Festival periods, stressing the need to consolidate local supervision responsibilities, ensure that production and operation entities fulfill their animal epidemic prevention and quality safety duties, and continuously enhance the level of safety assurance for livestock products.
