Russian Strategic Nuclear Forces Exercise Personally Directed by Putin

The Russian Presidential website released a message on the 22nd, stating that Russia conducted a joint exercise of its land, sea, and air strategic nuclear forces, directed by President Putin, who is also the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces. During the exercise, an intercontinental ballistic missile and an air-launched cruise missile were launched.

It is reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin directed the joint strategic nuclear forces exercise remotely. The exercise comprehensively tested the combat readiness of Russia's land-based, sea-based, and air-based nuclear forces. During the exercise, a "Yars" intercontinental ballistic missile was launched from the Plesetsk State Test Cosmodrome towards the Kura test site on the Kamchatka Peninsula. In the waters of the Barents Sea, the strategic nuclear submarine "Bryansk" launched a "Sinyava" ballistic missile, and the Tu-95MS long-range strategic bombers participating in the exercise launched air-launched cruise missiles.

According to a TASS report, Putin, while communicating with the military from the Kremlin, stated that the exercise was routine training. The exercise tested the combat readiness of the Russian armed forces, and all tasks of the strategic nuclear forces exercise have been completed. It is reported that the "Yars" missile, developed in the early 21st century, is a solid-fuel intercontinental ballistic missile that can be launched from mobile platforms or fixed silos, capable of carrying multiple nuclear warheads with a maximum range of up to 11,000 kilometers.
