Shenyang MicroControl Magnetic Levitation Application Industrial Base Inaugurated, Boosting Liaoning’s 100-Billion-Yuan New Energy Industry Cluster
The inauguration ceremony of Shenyang MicroControl Flywheel Technology Co., Ltd.’s Magnetic Levitation Application Industrial Base and project cooperation signing event was held on August 9 at the Sino-German (Shenyang) High-end Equipment Manufacturing Industrial Park.
Industry insiders noted that as a landmark project for Liaoning’s new energy industry upgrade, the base’s completion and operation mark a critical step in MicroControl Flywheel’s industrialization of magnetic levitation technology. Coinciding with the 10th anniversary of the Sino-German Industrial Park, it injects new momentum into Shenyang’s Tiexi District to accelerate the development of new productive forces and strengthens Shenyang’s ambition to build a “100-billion-yuan energy storage hub.”
In the race for new energy industry dominance, core technology is the decisive factor. Founded in 2018, Shenyang MicroControl Flywheel Technology has emerged as a national high-tech enterprise and Liaoning’s first manufacturing unicorn, holding over 100 international and domestic patents. The company contributed to China’s flywheel energy storage standards and established a globally leading technical system in magnetic bearings, flywheel energy storage, and high-speed power machinery, breaking foreign monopolies. It leads in market share for grid frequency regulation and data center applications and was named among “China’s Top 50 New Productive Forces Enterprises” in 2024.
The newly inaugurated base serves as a “super factory” for technological transformation. With a total investment of 2 billion yuan, the project is divided into two phases. The first phase, costing 400 million yuan, covers 86.5 mu (5.77 hectares) and includes a 65,000-square-meter intelligent production base and R&D center. At full capacity, it will produce 11,000 flywheel energy storage units annually, with an estimated annual output value of 5 billion yuan.
Aiming to become a “global lighthouse factory,” the base achieves a three-tier leap in “equipment automation—digital management—intelligent decision-making.” Its fully intelligent production line sets a benchmark for high-end equipment manufacturing and solidifies Tiexi District’s leadership in new energy technology, supporting China’s “dual-carbon” strategy and smart manufacturing development.
During the ceremony, MicroControl signed cooperation agreements with Eve Energy, Schneider Electric (China), and the Academician Li Peigen Workstation. “Our collaboration with MicroControl is mutually empowering,” said Xiong Yi, Senior Vice President of Schneider Electric (China), highlighting future focuses on dual-carbon tech integration, scenario-based development, and shared standards to advance zero-carbon energy ecosystems and large-scale tech deployment.
The project’s launch is set to energize the entire industrial ecosystem. Wang Yifan, Executive Deputy General Manager of MicroControl, stated that while the base provides direct production capacity for Liaoning’s new energy expansion, it will also attract cutting-edge technologies, R&D resources, and talent. “As a core industry chain leader, we will drive synergies across upstream and downstream sectors to foster the growth of Liaoning’s 100-billion-yuan new energy cluster.”
Officials from Tiexi District (Economic Development Zone and Sino-German Park) emphasized that leveraging Shenyang’s “dual-core” strategy as a “100-billion-yuan energy storage hub” and “Northern Hydrogen Capital,” the district is leveraging key projects to catalyze the rise of a new energy industrial cluster. Leading enterprises are flourishing across energy storage, hydrogen, wind, and nuclear energy, positioning Tiexi as a pioneer in Northeast China’s green transformation.
