Statement by the MOFCOM Spokesperson on Measures Related to the Unreliable Entity List
The spokesperson of the Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) addressed media inquiries regarding measures related to the Unreliable Entity List. The full content is as follows:
Q: This time, China has once again activated the "Unreliable Entity List," imposing sanctions on foreign entities such as Counter-Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Technology Company, TechInsights Inc., and their affiliates. What are the considerations behind this move?
A: In recent years, foreign entities such as Counter-Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Technology Company, TechInsights Inc., and their affiliates have disregarded China's strong opposition by engaging in so-called military-technical cooperation with Taiwan, making malicious remarks concerning China, and assisting foreign governments in suppressing Chinese companies. These actions have severely undermined China's national sovereignty, security, and development interests. In accordance with laws including the Foreign Trade Law of the People's Republic of China, the National Security Law of the People's Republic of China, and the Anti-Foreign Sanctions Law of the People's Republic of China, as well as provisions such as Article 2 of the Provisions on the Unreliable Entity List, China is holding these entities legally accountable for their unlawful activities.
China has always exercised prudence in handling matters related to the Unreliable Entity List, targeting only a very small number of foreign entities that endanger China's national security in accordance with the law. Foreign entities that act in good faith and comply with the law have no cause for concern. The Chinese government continues to welcome enterprises from all over the world to invest and do business in China and remains committed to providing a stable, fair, and predictable business environment for law-abiding and compliant foreign-funded enterprises operating in China.
