Global Wealth Management Forum Director-General: Driving Digital Transformation in the Financial Industry with New Technologies
On October 18, Li Jiange, Director-General of the Global Wealth Management Forum and former Vice Minister of the State Council Economic Restructuring Office, stated at the Global Wealth Management Forum·2025 Shanghai Suhewan Conference that fintech, represented by artificial intelligence, is not only changing the forms and logic of financial services but also redefining the direction of financial infrastructure construction. It is achieving profound transformation by continuously breaking down the competitive barriers of the traditional financial industry and promoting a shift in the competitive paradigm of the financial sector.
"Against the backdrop of unprecedented changes unseen in a century, China is taking scientific and technological innovation as the core driving force, accelerating the formation of new quality productive forces, and steadily advancing the realization of Chinese modernization." Reviewing the remarkable achievements China has made in developing new quality productive forces since 2025, Li Jiange said that from international frontier explorations to domestic independent breakthroughs, the rapid iteration and evolution of technological waves have become the era background for the deep-level innovative development of China's financial industry.
In Li Jiange's view, the deep application of artificial intelligence in areas such as financial risk control and intelligent investment advisory further demonstrates the disruptive impact of new technologies on the financial industry. "These changes are no longer sporadic explorations but have converged into a powerful momentum driving industry transformation, marking the accelerated arrival of the digital finance era."
Looking ahead, Li Jiange believes that the key to building a strong financial nation lies in promoting the digital transformation of the financial industry, consolidating the foundation of computing power, activating the potential of data, and constructing a development ecosystem. Among these, the computing power foundation is the "ballast stone" for building intensive and efficient digital infrastructure; activating data elements is the "golden key" to promoting the large-scale implementation of intelligent applications; and the construction of a collaborative development ecosystem is essentially about building a "protective net" for the safe and reliable operation of finance.
